In my experience, if you DON’T use our equipment, you’re likely to have a massive headache because the quality isn’t as good either. You can use your own router, but you have absolutely no right to customer service and troubleshooting anything with your own equipment. I work at spectrum in a tech support role. Thing is, I fear that if I do they’ll use it against me when I submit a support ticket saying “Sorry, not our router, nothing we can do.” Second: anyone with any sense of security would change the router’s default password.ġ) Is this normal? Can they ask me for my router password? Spectrum did not tell me at any time during the new customer process that they would have admin access to the router, and that I need to either leave the default password as-is or notify them when I change it.Ģ) Can I remove the Sagemcom router and plug in my own router?
